TERMS & CONDITIONS
BY ORDERING PRODUCTS OR SERVICES FROM THE FLOURISHED LETTER, YOU AGREE
TO BE BOUND BY OUR TERMS
PRICING: The Flourished Letter reserves the right to amend any information without prior notice, including but not limited to pricing. Delivery charges will be added at checkout/quoting stage. When a quote is provided for calligraphy the quote is valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
PAYMENT: Payments will go through our Wix website payment system, paypal or bank transfer. If your order is over £300, a non-refundable deposit of 50% is required, and if your order is under £300 the total amount is due in order to book you into my diary and start design work. The final balance if applicable must be paid in full upon proof approval and before final product production or printing begins. A specific date for this will be included in your invoice. For orders with a turnaround time of less than 4 weeks, full payment is required prior to me starting any design work. The Flourished Letter currently accepts payment by bank transfer or credit/debit cards via our website.
COPYRIGHT: Images on this site and images or designs that have been sent to you via email as proofs or printable files remain the sole property of The Flourished Letter and are subject to copyright laws and restrictions. Authorisation to use any images belonging to the company must be obtained in writing and cannot be resold under any circumstance. The Flourished Letter retains the right to refuse that artwork be sent to you if we feel that those files are likely to be used in breach of these terms and conditions. The Flourished Letter does not release artwork files to be printed at home or with another printer unless it has been specifically agreed with you and the artwork release payment made.

UK STANDARD DELIVERY: If you select the standard service we will send your order by Royal Mail’s 2nd class service. Please allow 2 to 3 working days for your delivery from dispatch. Standard delivery costs £3.50. You may also arrange to pick-up your order to avoid shipping charges at a mutually agreeable time, from me in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.
CANCELLATION & REFUNDS: Many of our goods are personalised to your specifications and therefore we will be unable to offer a refund once sign off has been made and items have been sent to print. If you need to cancel your order before this point you must let me know ASAP, I will then void your order and hold any further invoices subject to work already completed.
Cancellation of bespoke orders cannot be made after approval sign off and any design fees will be non-refundable subject to work already completed. It is at the discretion of The Flourished Letter to determine a cancellation fee if needed. In this instance you will be informed via email of the exact fee and a refund of the remaining sum owed will be made into your account within 10 days. The agreed upon 50% design and deposit fee will not be refundable in any case.
RETURNS: Unfortunately we cannot accept returns of personalised goods or sample packs. However, if your order is in any way incomplete, incorrect or has been damaged in transit then please contact me within 48 hours of delivery and I will rectify any issues without dispute. Please provide a photograph of any items damaged in transit for our records and so we can make a claim with the delivery service. The Flourished Letter cannot be held responsible for any damages incurred during shipping and/or mailing or items that are not delivered.
A full refund (excluding shipping fee) will be issued in the form of your original payment. We do not cover the costs of your return shipping. Please return your item, unused in its original condition and packaging. We recommend you return your item via tracked delivery.
Please note, we do not offer refunds on personalised items such as calligraphy envelopes and place cards.
We do not offer exchanges. In the event that an exchange is required, you must send the item back within 14 days of receipt for a full refund, and then purchase the new item you would prefer.
If you are going to provide any items for hand lettering – i.e. envelopes or clothing – please provide at least 20% extra or a sample piece of fabric if possible to allow for ink tests and human error. If a sample piece of fabric can’t be provided I will try and find a similar piece of fabric from my own stock and you accept that in some cases the ink type may not be suitable for all fabrics and ‘bleeding’ can occur. Bleeding is where there are inconsistencies in the line created by the ink, where the ink leaks out into the paper or fabric and doesn’t create a smooth line. Also prior to writing on the garment if a sample cannot be provided I will try and find the most inconspicuous area of the garment to try a very small patch test.
INCONSISTENCIES: Due to the nature of handmade and handwritten items, each will have certain variations. For printed items, please remember that colours vary from screen to screen and on different paper types. While I will do my best to colour match accurately, the colours on your printed invitation may differ slightly from the digital proofs you approve due to nuances in the printing process.
PROOFING: Once an order has been placed, an email will be sent to collect your personalised details within 24 hours, proofs will then be created for your order. Your digital proofs will be sent to you for checking within 3 working days. At this point you will be responsible for making sure that all spelling, grammar and layout are correct before signing off for printing. Any changes made after this point may be chargeable. Please do not rely upon the proofs for exact colour shades as they may vary from screen to screen.
You must check over all digital proofs carefully including *Spelling *Grammar *Layout *Colour *All information is correct, as it is your responsibility to make sure that you are 100% happy with the final proofs. Any changes after approval to print will be chargeable. There are strictly 2 rounds of amendments allowed for free (or x2 rounds for custom designs), and after this point a fee of £25 will be added to your quote for each round of amendments.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY: All designs and concepts are the intellectual property of The Flourished Letter. All work may not be reproduced in any form without written consent from myself.
I do not create designs using copyrighted material. Should you wish to incorporate the work of another designer (such as a monogram or an illustration) in your stationery, please note that I will require the express written consent of the designer, and the work must be supplied in an easily incorporated format, preferably vector or high resolution PNG or JPEG. If it isn’t possible to obtain this consent, I will be unable to incorporate their work in your stationery. If any reworking of the design element is required, the charge will be included in your quote.
PROMOTION: As owner of the intellectual property, The Flourished Letter retains all rights to use the preliminary and completed designs for the purpose of display and marketing or for other clients, upon request. Should you not want me to use your design for these purposes, please let me know.
TIMINGS: An estimated date for the completion of the work will be agreed once your payment/deposit is received. I will always work to this deadline however in order for me to complete the work it is also important that you work to any deadlines given in relation to payments, feedback and providing details or artwork for the designs. If you miss the deadline there may be a possibility that the work will not be completed/delivered by the original deadline.
RUSH ORDERS: Rush orders (less than a 4 week turnaround) are accepted depending on availability and the requirements of the project. Rush orders will add any additional expedited shipping costs. Full payment for rush orders is due upon order placement. To ensure the job is turned around in time, it is important for you to respond in a timely manner to any deadlines I provide you with regards to providing names, copy or feedback on designs. If you are late to respond, overall timelines will be affected and there is a possibility your item(s) will not be delivered on time.
TERM & TERMINATION
The term of this agreement will continue for work in progress until terminated by either party upon written notice. I hope I will never have to cancel an order but in the unforeseen circumstance that this may happen a full refund will be sent for any work not completed along with the recommendation of another calligrapher.
ON THE DAY WEDDING STATIONERY: We advise that on the day wedding stationery should be ordered at least 6-10 weeks before your wedding date. We will always advise you of the latest date that your items need be approved if needed. This approval date MUST be met in order for your order to be fulfilled, dispatched and delivered in good time for your wedding day. Any failure of items being received by yourselves as a result of failure to meet the given approval date will not qualify for a refund of any kind by The Flourished Letter.
PAYMENT SCHEDULES: Payment reminders will be sent via email approximately 4 days before your next payment is due, and then again 2 days afterwards if for any reason the invoice has not been paid by this time. If you need to amend the quantities at any point, simply let us know and the invoice will be amended and resent to you. If at any point, you no longer wish to go ahead with the remainder of the order, let us know and all remaining invoices will be removed from our system.
