**please note**
Before you first use your nib it requires preparing to remove the oily coating which prevents rust in manufacturing. There are many ways you can do this, I find the best/easiest way is to rub a small bit of Toothpaste onto the nib for a few seconds, then rinse off and dry thoroughly.
