Got an empty frame that’s been waiting for something special for ages? Why not try this:
Project: Create your own framed quote
You will need;
Watercolour paper,
ink colour of your choice
nib and pen holder,
a frame,
a quote or affirmation in mind (take into account the size of your frame)
pencil,
Rhodia dot paper.
Instructions;
Layout and plan the design using the Rhodia dot paper and pencil. It may be helpful to draw the size of the finished piece out so you know where your borders will be.
Start by roughly (but lightly) in pencil writing out your quote within the borders to see how it fits.
Go over the text in your calligraphy style slightly darker, work over again using more paper if necessary to trace the design till you are happy with the design.
Trim your watercolour paper to the required size for your frame (if necessary).
Trace over your design onto the watercolour paper using your nib and ink. If you have a light pad it may be useful for your final piece here so you can trace over it more easily.
Place your beautiful artwork in the frame and hang on the wall, or give as a gift.
